Our Mission

Our mission is to build a fairer and more caring society, by means of the comprehensive promotion of impoverished and excluded persons and groups. We undertake this work through individual and collective development processes, based on close relationships, companionship and efficient services.

We make particular emphasis on the involvement of young people and, in collaboration with other people and organizations, we develop social action, educational and cooperation programmes.

Our Values

• The importance of human beings. We believe that the individual is the central value and the fundamental axis of our social action. Respect for human dignity, comprehensive promotion and the development of everyone gives shape to our daily work.
• Brotherhood. Within the conviction that every man and woman are brethren, we understand brotherhood as a form of relationship based on coexistence, dialogue, cooperation and unconditional love.
• Utopia. We are working to make possible a world based on fair, caring, brotherly and pacific relationships between not only individuals, but the peoples of the world.
• Transforming presence. Close to and identified with impoverished and excluded people and groups, we actively and critically involve ourselves in the transformation of reality, in order to provoke the necessary social change and to generate individual, community and structural alternatives.
• Justice and Solidarity. We are committed to promote justice and solidarity in order to improve the conditions of individuals, communities and peoples that are living in poverty and find themselves socially excluded.
• Leading role and participation. We promote the leading role and co-responsibility of individuals in the processes of change, and together with them we choose forms of collaboration based on teamwork and coming together.
• Communication and Transparency. We share what we are and what we do, ensuring that we clearly communicate our organization's actions and management, both internally and externally.

Adsis Foundation is a well known organization, both in local and state spheres, because of its promotion and development of social action, educational and cooperation programmes.

• It lives and spreads its values; the form of relationships it promotes being the essential axis of the development of its mission.
• It stands out for its work with young people.
• It offers quality services in the comprehensive promotion of persons and groups.
• It has an active social presence in local and state spaces and networks that influence social transformation.
• It evaluates the impact of its actions and communicates it to society.
• It has a solid and operative organizational structure, in which every stakeholder is informed, participates and acts in a complementary way.
• It defines local and state strategies in a cooperative manner.
• It has a consolidated and involved group of volunteers that have a relevant role and it is growing both in terms of quantity and quality.
• It has sustainable financing that allows its mission to be fulfilled.

Our origins

Adsis Foundation was created in 1996 by the Adsis Movement of Communities as a result of its Christian experience and commitment to the poor, which this movement had been developing since the nineteen sixties.

The foundation was formed in order to improve the movement's presence and action against situations of injustices, impoverishment and exclusion.

Anyone can participate in the organisation's work, even if they do not share its ideas and beliefs, so long as they identify with and are committed to its mission and values.
